We are trying to incorporate into our diet as many fruits, veggies, meats, whole-wheat bread (gluten-free for Tom and I) natural sugars and other healthy foods as possible. We are trying to eat as much whole, natural, straight from the source food as we can. Smoothies are a mainstay because they are a great way to pack in the fruits and vegetables.
Adjusting to not having sugar is hard! In our American diet, sugar is in EVERYTHING! It is cloaked in names such as dried cane syrup, fructose, dextrose, etc. Sugar is just plain addicting! We are trying to stay clear of sugar as much as possible. And when we do want something sweet we will have honey or maple syrup.
We are also trying to stay active and exercise. It is good for the heart, mind, and I daresay, the soul.
We are just starting this adventure called whole foods, and are not perfect, nor do we ever intend to be. We just want our bodies to be healthier and stronger for the great journey called life. We will accomplish our goal with God's help because we believe that we are honoring Him.
The kids have never seen an avocado seed so they were pretty impressed!

Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are. ~ 1 Corinthians 3:16 and 17
My son, eat honey, for it is good, yes, the honey from the comb is sweet to your taste. ~ Proverbs 24:13
“But I would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.” ~ Psalm 81:16 (God speaking)
For bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. ~ 1 Timothy 4:8
